 You receive 550 Authentication is required for relay when sending out e-mail
Solution The reason for this error is that your email server requires SMTP Authentication to send outgoing mail. In order to resolve this issue you will need to configure your email client such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, or Thunderbird so, that you are an authenticated user.

For Outlook 2003:
  1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2003 and select Tools > E-mail Accounts
  2. Select your e-mail account from the list and click Next
  3. At at bottom of the window, click "More Settings"
  4. On the Internet E-mail Settings window, select the "Outgoing Server" tab.
  5. Check the box for "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication". Leave the rest of the settings as default.
  6. Click Finish
